A Feed-in Tariff is a reimbursement of surplus power from your solar power system which is fed back into the grid. Your solar power system can reduce or cancel out your electricity payments with the use of feed-in tariffs. In some cases, your solar system can even earn you money.

Solar power feed-in tariff

Your feed-in tariff is set by your electricity retailer, however, the Queensland government Solar Bonus Scheme sets a minimum of 8 cents per kWh* of electricity fed back into the grid. Some retailers offer an increased rate to entice customers to buy and sell with them. These rates can vary greatly so shopping around to find out what you are eligible for with your specific solar power system is a very sound practice.
